DESCRIPTION
Woodmate 1060 is a solvent based opaque stain for use on both horizontal and vertical wood surfaces. Its formula was
developed based on advanced research in the area of wood protection. It contains an alkyd resin with linseed oil to ensure
full adherence to the wood, as well as a water repelling agent to protect against water damage. It also contains an agent to
prevent the growth of mildew. It is easy to apply, and covers well from the first application. Once dry, it leaves a rich velvety
finish. This stain is highly resistant to inclement weather.
CHARACTERISTICS TECHNICAL INFORMATION
Water Repellent
This stain allows the water to repel on the surface in order to
keep the wood dry and thereby preserve the devastating
effect that water can have on it.
Mildewcide
This stain contains a protective agent which delays the growth
of parasitic fungi that can destroy wood.
Durability
In addition to being weather resistant, this stain has good
abrasion resistance.
Opaque
Woodmate 1060 opaque film protects wood of harmful
effects of UV rays.

USE LIMITATIONS
- For exterior use
- All new or already stained/painted exterior wood
surfaces having been previously adequately
prepared.
- Sidings, fences, decks, patios and wooden
furniture ...
- Do not apply if temperature is below 10°C
- Do not apply under direct sunlight
- Does not adhere to waterproof stains
- Do not apply if wood humidity level is superior to
12%
An adequate surface preparation is the key to success for all exterior wood staining projects.
Wash surface to be stained with a solution of degreaser (TSP), one litre of bleach and three litres of water. Apply on wood, let
it soak for 10 20 minutes, scrub with a brush, and then rinse. Let dry 48 hours. Repair surface as needed and cover nails with
putty or filler. Sand wood with #60 or #80 sandpaper. The surface must be dry and clean, without oil, blisters, grease, soap,
rust, wax or dust.
Mildew & new surfaces
On new or treated wood having been exposed to inclement weather, it is highly recommended to neutralise all mildew,
visible or not, in order to avoid peeling. Use a mix of 3 parts water for 1 part bleach, let this work for 20 minutes, then rinse
and allow the wood to dry for at least 24 hours before painting. Once the surface is dry, sand the horizontal surface entirely
with a n 80 sand paper in order to open the wood fibers and enhance the adhesion. Use a n 120 sand paper for vertical
surfaces. Should a pressure wash be required, it must be done prior to sanding.
Bare wood: For pastel colours seal pine knots with Stop Plus 298 before applying top coat.
Apply at temperatures between 10°C and 30°C. Do not apply when surface is exposed to direct sunlight. The wood must not
surpass a 12% humidity level. Wait 8 hours after a mild rainfall and 24 hours after a heavy rainfall. Use a bristle brush.
Generously apply the coating using a back and forth movement along the fibers of the wood. Only apply on the width of 2 3
wood planks, afterwards apply on length of planks in order to avoid demarcation. For a maximum protection, make sure to
apply product on all 6 facades of the wood. Stir the product during application in order to keep the mixture homogeneous.
For a spray application, dilute with a maximum of 10% mineral spirit (MF SOL 450). There should not be rain for the following
48 hours in order to ensure a good performance of the stain.

This product will give full satisfaction if applied according to the
manufacturer s instructions. Manufacturer s liability is limited to
the replacement of the product and does not include manpower
if found defective upon inspection.
Keep away from children
Keep in a dry area between 10o C 30o C
Keep lid closed when not used.
Avoid freezing.
KEEP AWAY FROM SPARKS AND FLAMES
Dispose of the container in an environmentally-friendly manner.
